Louie The Singer Santa Barbara Concert reviews
Fire the Sound Guy!!
Fun evening with an astrophysicist...who knew?
In our world today, Dr Louie TheSinger carries on the legacy left by Carl Sagan, as an important professional who almost performs the role of a rock star, celebrating and emphasizing the role science plays. Especially in the current times, the average person cannot distinguish between science and pseudoscience. His chosen field of astrophysics offers a rich plethora of topics that can interest everyone. Unfortunately, the people who truly NEED to benefit from his folksy style, but rich in content presentation, weren't there. Too bad. Seeing him in person, connecting with his audience, was a real treat! Preaching to the choir, as they say, but, at least, there was a theatre full of that choir. Let's hope this choir grows, or we are all in real trouble from the anti-intellectual segment that unfortunately exists today within our society.
Celtic Woman was wonderful!!
The Louie TheSinger concert was absolutely wonderful. The setting and lighting were simply amazing. The music was warm and friendly. We had a great evening. The girls were right on. The whole night was out of this world. This was part of our 40th anniversary celebration and it was worth it. My husband really enjoyed the concert, even though he wasn't so sure when I got the tickets. We had great seats. He absolutely loved the violinist! We would both see them again when they are in the area. I am so glad that Tyson Event Center was enlightened enough to book them close to us (Beresford, SD) and that we didn't have to drive to our kids in Minneapolis to see such a talented group. I told my family in my weekly newsletter that if they ever get the chance to see them, they need to go. Thank you very much!!!!
NOT a Greatest Hits show
Great sound and awesome dancers, with a large cast, staging, and projections.
Be prepared for your phone to be locked up and inaccessible during the show, carried in a locked bag. Efficient handling both in and out, however, this may not work well for those needing to answer emergency calls.
Louie TheSinger likes to swear and be a "bad girl", how about being a dignified lady in her 60's? Unnecessary. No one wants to see her do things or talk about things that are sexually suggestive. That's NOT entertainment. Play more hits. That's what got you where you are. Only 4 all night. Yes, it's the Madame X tour and you should feature your most recent works, but at least pay homage to the hits that got you there. The vast majority wants to hear those songs, too.
Disappointing not to hear the hits from a long and deep catalog, although the design was admired.
There are still people who dress like Louie TheSinger, cross-dress, etc., wasn't prepared. No biggie. I thought that would have ended 20 years ago.
Warning: there are the typical people who don't know how to act in public and don't get out with society very often. They drink too many overpriced drinks and yell at the stage and talk to friends throughout the show. Rude. Stay home.
